India has one of the largest areas of agricultural land in the world. Out of the country’s total geographical area, nearly half is used for cultivation. This land supports food grains, cash crops, horticulture, plantations, and allied agricultural activities. The availability and quality of farming land differ significantly across regions due to variations in soil type, climate, rainfall, and irrigation facilities.
